Bogan Road Distillery

Transitioning from being an independent bottler and supporting the Tasmanian Whisky industry to doing their own distilling, Bogan Road Distillery is set in bushland with a stunning view of Quamby Bluff.

Embarking on a journey to create their own independent bottling business “Tasmanian Whisky Selectors” 2016, Karin and Shane discovered a stunning bush property on Bogan Road, nestled in the foothills of Quamby Bluff. Inspired by their passion for premium spirits and Tasmanian produce they went onto create Bogan Road Distillery, complete with ‘Bennie’ the 1600L pot still

Determined to wait patiently until the whisky is at it’s best before bottling, Karin and Shane Spencer have an idyllic location for crafting their premium product.

The land is registered as Land for Wildlife and supports a number of endangered species; an ideal location for aging whisky in the bond store and a beautiful place to taste it too!

Karin and Shane are currently bottling single cask single malt whiskies under the Tasmanian Whisky Selectors label, and making gin and liqueurs under the Bogan Road label. The new make spirit distilled on site is being put down in barrels to age in the bond store to become Bogan Road whisky.

We welcome you to join us for tastings and tours of our distillery, where you can experience first hand the passion and dedication that goes into every bottle of Bogan Road Distillery spirits.

The distillery is open by appointment only, or if the gate is open you are welcome to drop in.

Hidden gem - Highly recommend visiting. Informal personal tour of the distillery with great knowledge. Our dog was welcomed but message in advance.

We enjoyed this little hideaway. A short informative tour combined with some taste testing of some interesting flavours. Worth a stop on a cool morning whiskey to warm your insides and a firepot to warm your toes

I will rate over 5 stars (if Google has this function) for the owner's hospitality, knowledge, and mamamiya! It is THE BEST WHISKY that I've tested this year! Glad I found this hidden gem on the way to Deloraine; definitely will visit it again.
