Hartzview Vineyard was established in 1988 by Rob and Anthea Patterson. Set amidst 125 acres of stunning natural beauty at Gardners Bay, the property which had previously an abundance of premium small fruits, now is adorned with Pinot Noir vines.
For over 20 years, Hartzview has specialised in crafting exceptional fruit fortified wines. Using innovative winemaking techniques and 100% natural Tasmanian fruit, their fortified wines are preservative-free, with no artificial flavours or colourings. From the sweet and luscious Spiced Apple Mead Liqueur to the rich, tawny notes of Blackcurrant, Blackberry and Cassis Hartzview offers a fortified wine to delight every palate.
In 2019 the family took on a new challenge with the commissioning of a Peter Bailey traditional copper pot still (“Gracie”), Rob began distillation creating something truly special.

Tasting Notes (Bill Lark)
“Nose: Beautiful floral and fruit nose with gentle notes of oak shining through. Turkish delight and rich milk chocolate.
Taste: Sweet creamy upfront before quickly wrapping around the tongue. A rich and velvety textured Whisky on the palate delivered by a good sense of alcohol. Finishing well for cask strength.
With water- Handles water very well. Broken down it opens up delicious fruit and nut characters and is wonderfully complex and luscious.”
